On a Wednesday you can ride from 5.30 – 8.30 ish with tractor lifts to the top of the hill at only £5 for the evening. During these evenings we ride all we like. Sometimes we may also work on the tracks at Haredown and do the odd bit of perfecting, but this is completely voluntary. Plans are also being thought of for some free ride evenings off in the woods, but this still is to be confirmed. Â
Partying -Â
The SOBA network is full of helpful and out going people who are always happy to try and help with your problems and queries. We meet up once a fortnight for organised evenings but many of us board together other nights/days as well. New members are always welcome and invited to any event we are holding. Just come and talk to us, we don’t bite…much. Â
Supporting the National Comps -Â The English National Mountain Boarding Competitions are held every year by ATBA-UK. They take place all over England at many different centers. They are broken down into 5 different rounds and each round includes one day of boarder-x racing and one day a freestyle competition, sometimes this can become slope style (see riding types for information on these events). The ATBA-UK is a non-profit making organisation that is growing every year in the increase in popularity of the beautiful sport that is mountain boarding. It is there to provide the recognized forum to represent and promote mountain boarding in the UK. It does this by putting our interests (the riders interests) first, it promotes safety within the sport, it helps sanction events, in some places provides training and also it communicates their actions and decisions to its members and also sources funding for all the above. It is a large part of the boarding community and holds these competitions incredibly well, supporting all riders and competitors, as well as organising it all.Â
